3rd Annual What Happens Upstream Youth Conference - kʷu ʔasəlʔ aʔspuʔús

The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) Youth Leadership Council (YLC) and the What Happens Upstream (WHU) Planning Committee is excited to present the 3rd Annual What Happens Upstream Youth conference. This year we are focusing on “Good Conflict.” The name of our conference: kʷu ʔasəlʔ aʔspuʔús (khoo-ah-sel-ah-spoo-oos) meaning we are of two different hearts. This is to acknowledge that we may not always agree but can work together towards a solution. Through this theme, we hope to support skill building related to communication and wellness so that we can be in good conflict with others.

This year's conference aims to empower Young people in the Okanagan by equipping them with the basic skills necessary to manage and resolve conflicts effectively and with care.

To support Young people on their journey through this event there will be:

• A Cultural Wellness and quiet room to visit with Elders and receive Cultural support
• Resource booths to learn about what is available to you
• Access to mental health supports
• Lunch Feast by Smoke on the Plateau and Two Sparrows Pizza
• Door Prizes!

SCHOOL DISTRICT

These tickets are reserved for teachers, students and professionals attending with a school district

GENERAL ADMISSION YOUTH 14-25 (Gr.8 +) & GUARDIANS

These tickets are reserved for youth not attending directly through a school district, are out of school, in college/university, participating in different programs or not attached to a service provider, and for guardians or support workers.

SERVICE PROVIDERS **if you are signed up as a resource booth, you do not need to register for the conference**

These tickets are reserved and limited - for staff at Youth serving organizations who would like to participate and hear from Youth.
