About this Event
Since its inception in 2022, the AICRIstart programme has become a cornerstone of the All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI), driving forward the future of precision cancer medicine across the island of Ireland. This ambitious initiative has united ten leading academic institutions: UCD, TCD, RCSI, TU Dublin, DCU, QUB, UU, UG, UL, and UCC.
In just three years, AICRIstart has grown from an ambitious vision into a thriving network of innovative research and collaboration. The programme initially focused on nurturing ten talented PhD students through their projects in precision cancer medicine. These young researchers have flourished, supported by mobility grants that enabled meaningful collaborations and research exchanges across institutions, enhancing their scientific development and cross-border cooperation.
Expanding its vision further, AICRIstart proudly welcomed ten dedicated Postdoctoral Fellows in 2024. These researchers are already making significant strides in critical areas of cancer research, such as understanding immune exhaustion, pioneering advanced liquid biopsy technologies, and exploring novel therapeutic methods.
Meet the New Generation of Cancer Researchers
