Learn how to use our 3D printers. 3D Printer Orientation is necessary to use our in-house Prusa MK3S+ 3D printers.
About this Event

Learn how to find, prepare, and print 3D models on our Prusa MK3S+ 3D printers! No previous knowledge is required. This class will cover where to source 3D models online, how to slice files using Prusa Slicer, and how to operate the machine. You are encouraged to bring your own laptop to the class and download Prusa Slicer by clicking here, but it is not required.

This class will not include a 3D modeling aspect. If you are interested in learning 3D modeling, check out our other class—CAD for 3D Printing. Please note that CAD for 3D Printing class is NOT a 3D printer orientation class and will not cover how to use our in-house 3D printers. These classes will not have any content overlap. If you are interested in taking both, you can take them in either order.

Taking the 3D Printer Orientation is required to use our in-house printers. You must also be a member of NE Seattle Tool Library or Shoreline Tool Library to take this class. Become a member here!

While this instance is at the Shoreline Tool Library, we also have 3D Printer Orientations at the NE Seattle Tool Library, and completing one at either location gives members access to all of our tool library 3D printers. You may view our full list of upcoming 3D Printer Orientations .

Our sliding scale for classes helps to reduce barriers for participation while retaining sufficient income for Seattle REconomy, which owns and operates the NE Seattle and Shoreline tool libraries. Please choose the level that best fits your family’s income.

Children are welcome at some classes with their parent or guardian on a case-by-case basis, either as a student or as an observer. If you would like your child to attend a class with you, please email with their age and experience. Let us know if they will be a student or an observer, the name and date of the class, and we will determine if it is appropriate.
