THE HISTORY OF THE NIGERIA CHERUBIM & SERAPHIM SALVATION ARMYEPISODE 4 — THE FIRST MAJOR CHALLENGE
Growth often comes with challenges.
At a certain point, the Salvation Army movement experienced disagreements with some church elders. As a result, the band was suspended from the church.
But the suspension did not terminate the vision.
Rather than abandoning the movement, the leaders and members continued their activities by moving into neighbouring churches and establishing Friday vigils.
They also continued attending Sunday services at Orimolade Mountain.
This period became a test of the determination and spiritual commitment of the pioneers.
The early comrades demonstrated that their commitment was not merely to a uniform, a parade or a title. They were committed to the vision and purpose behind the movement.
The organisation survived the challenge and continued to grow.
Sometimes, the history of an institution is written not only by its victories but also by the challenges it survives.
The movement was tested, but the vision continued.
Join us next week for another episode.
