About this Event

Autumn Unmasking: A Forest Retreat to Come Back to Yourself

There is a particular kind of clarity that comes when you step far enough away from the noise to finally hear yourself again.

Autumn Unmasking is an intimate, small-group retreat designed to help you slow down, settle your nervous system, reconnect with your body, and create space for meaningful inner shifts.

Set on 111 acres of private forest and emerging lavender farm along the Otonabee River in the Peterborough region, approximately 1.5 hours from the GTA, Get Calm offers a retreat experience that is intentionally rustic, personal, and deeply connected to nature.

This isn't a resort or a packed wellness weekend. It's a chance to step away from the constant demands of everyday life and spend a few days breathing, moving, reflecting, resting, and reconnecting.

The Experience

Throughout the weekend, you'll be guided through a carefully held combination of:

  • Meditation and mindfulness
  • Gentle yoga and somatic movement
  • Breathwork
  • Sound healing
  • Aromatherapy
  • Energetic clearing and grounding practices
  • Journaling and reflective exercises
  • Outdoor mindfulness and creative experiences
  • Fire ceremony and intentional reflection
  • Quiet time to rest, wander, explore, and simply be

The practices are designed to bring you out of your head and back into your body. To help you notice the emotional patterns, beliefs, and habits that may be keeping you stuck in old cycles and create space to relate to them differently.

Nothing is forced. You won't be expected to share more than you're comfortable sharing or perform wellness for anyone else.

You are invited to move at your own pace.

Nature Is Part of the Retreat

Your retreat takes place within the forest, close to the river.

You'll sleep in an all-season canvas tent tucked among the trees or choose our small insulated accommodation.

The tents are unheated and intentionally rustic, offering a more direct connection to the natural environment. Wake to birdsong and fresh air. Walk the forest trails. Sit beside the river. Gather around the fire at night.

Peaceful kayaking on the Otonabee River and a wood-fired cedar sauna tucked away in the forest are both included in your retreat.

These aren't simply amenities added to the itinerary. Water, heat, forest, movement, stillness, and fresh air are all part of the experience.

A Weekend to Slow Down

The retreat unfolds over three days, beginning Friday afternoon and ending Sunday morning.

Friday is about Grounding + Settling—arriving, slowing down, connecting with the group, and beginning to come back into your body.

Saturday is about Diving Deeper—exploring movement, meditation, breath, reflection, creativity, kayaking, sauna, and the emotional patterns that may be ready for your attention.

Sunday is about Embodiment + Integration—bringing together what you've noticed and experienced before returning home.

There is structure, but there is also space.

Space to journal, nap, walk, talk, sit quietly beside the river, or stare into a blazing fire for extended periods.

It's all part of the retreat.

What You May Experience

Every guest arrives carrying something different, so there is no prescribed outcome.

You may notice your mind becoming quieter.

You may become aware of tension or emotions you've been overriding.

You may recognize an old story or pattern that has been quietly running the show.

You may feel more connected to your body, intuition, creativity, or inner guidance.

You may laugh. You may cry. You may sleep deeply.

You may simply realize how tired you've been.

The intention is not to fix yourself. It's to create enough space, awareness, and safety to begin choosing differently.

Your Small-Group Experience

Get Calm retreats are intentionally limited to just a few guests.

That means you're not one person in a room of thirty. There is room for genuine connection, individual attention, quiet moments, and conversations that actually go somewhere.

The experience is trauma-informed, grounded, and human.

No spiritual performance. No pressure to overshare. No requirement to arrive already knowing how to meditate or "heal."

Just practices, nature, and space to listen inward.

Included in Your Retreat

Your retreat includes:

  • Two nights of forest accommodation
  • All guided retreat practices and programming
  • Gentle yoga and somatic movement
  • Meditation and mindfulness practices
  • Breathwork, Sound healing, Aromatherapy
  • Energetic clearing and grounding practices
  • Journaling and creative activities
  • Peaceful kayaking on the Otonabee River
  • Wood-fired cedar sauna experience
  • Fire ceremony
  • Nourishing meals and refreshments throughout the retreat
  • A handcrafted lavender sachet made with lavender harvested and dried on the farm
  • A personal art piece created during the retreat to take home
  • A journal for capturing insights and continuing your reflection after the weekend

And What Do You Take Home?

Hopefully, more than a lavender sachet.

You may leave feeling lighter, clearer, more grounded, and more connected to yourself.

You may have a better understanding of the patterns that keep you stuck—and a little more space between what happens and how you automatically respond.

You may remember what it feels like to listen to your own inner guidance.

Because the goal isn't to become someone new.

It's to come back to yourself.

The world waiting for you when you leave Get Calm will be the same world you left behind on Friday.

But you may meet it differently.
