From first steps to full stride - a primary care approach to pediatric orthopedics
About this Event

As the only orthopedic surgeons in the region trained specifically in pediatric and adolescent care, Dayton Children's orthopedics division is a trusted resource for primary care providers managing musculoskeletal health from infancy through adolescence. The team partners closely with referring providers to distinguish normal growth from conditions that need specialist attention.

Growth and development are a central focus, with expert guidance on how bones grow and when physiologic development crosses into pathologic territory - knowledge primary care providers rely on daily in clinic. For complex or high-stakes presentations, including malignant bone tumors in pediatric patients, Dayton Children's multi-disciplinary team ensures children get the right care at the right time.

Hands-on exam skills round out the experience, with focused training in shoulder, knee and apine assessment that providers can apply immediately in practice.

Whether it's a growing pain, a sports injury or a limp that doesn't quite add up, Dayton Children's helps primary care providers guide every child from first steps to full stride.
