The Shenandoah Valley's most scenic road race! Held at the height of the fall foliage season, the 28th annual Greasy-Gooney 10K, hosted by the Shenandoah Valley Runners, will take place at 9:00 AM on Saturday 24 October 2026 in Browntown, Virginia, about eight miles south of Front Royal (an hour west of the DC Beltway). Our somewhat challenging 6.2 mile road race loops through the foothills of the Blue Ridge, treating runners to gorgeous views of the mountains and countryside. We'll have awards for the top three overall and for the top three in mostly five-year age groups, plus some cheap random prizes. Entry fees with the race premium (a black & orange embroidered running cap) are $30 early or $40 on race day, and without the premium it's $24 early or $34 race day. $2 discount available for members of the Shenandoah Valley Runners running club (SVR). Runners of all abilities are welcome to participate! For complete information, visit the Greasy-Gooney 10K web site at GG10K.com, and head to RunSignup.com/GG10K to register. Volunteers are needed as well, and we'll give you a special volunteer cap (orange & black) for free if you help out! E-mail [email protected] to volunteer.
