Join the Washington County Historical Society on Friday, December 11, for a special Culture & Cocktails at the Maryland Theatre to celebrate Washington County's history. This event takes place from 6:00-8:30 PM at the Maryland Theatre in the Manger Ballroom. Doors open 5:30 PM.
A lineup of speakers from Washington County historical sites and organizations will present the history of Washington County's different eras from 1776 to 2026, including our county's involvement in the American Revolution, early transportation, history of enslavement and free people of color, the Civil War and its aftermath, World Wars I and II, and late 20th century development. Speakers include Reuben Moss from the National Road Museum, historian Emilie Amt, and Laura Marfut from Antietam Institute.
Each Culture & Cocktails ticket includes one drink ticket and catered refreshments. Drinks, including a specialty cocktail, will be provided by the Maryland Theatre. We hope you wear your year-end best and join us to celebrate the history of Washington County, Maryland!
Culture & Cocktails is generously sponsored by the James & Mary Schurz Foundation. Culture & Cocktails is usually held at the Miller House Museum, home of the Washington County Historical Society, but we are excited to hold this special December 11th Culture & Cocktails at the Maryland Theatre.
