Daniel Byrne — “American Counterculture Turns 250”
What does it mean to challenge the status quo? And how have Americans who pushed against dominant cultural norms helped shape the country we know today?
As part of the Evansville Museum’s 250 Speaker Series, join Daniel Byrne for “American Counterculture Turns 250,” a thought-provoking lecture exploring the long tradition of Americans challenging established cultural norms—and the lasting impact of those movements.
From political and social movements to changes in art, music, identity, and individual freedom, American history is filled with people who questioned what was considered normal and, in doing so, helped reshape the culture around them.
As the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, this presentation offers an opportunity to look beyond traditional narratives and consider the many voices and movements that have challenged America to rethink itself.
