About this Event
Each year, the Howard Law Journal facilitates the Branton Symposium to honor Howard University School of Law’s former Dean and impactful civil rights activist, Wiley A. Branton.
This year’s theme is “The State of the Black Lawyer: The Blueprint Reimagined.” Inspired by the work of Howard University School of Law’s former Dean, J. Clay Smith, Jr., this year’s Symposium invites our community to honor the legacy of Black lawyers, evaluate the challenges facing the profession, and set a bold agenda for its future.
The Branton Symposium is particularly special this year, as it will highlight historic and intertwined roles of Howard University School of Law and Harvard Law School in educating and producing generations of Black lawyers. This year’s Symposium will bring together scholars and practitioners connected to both institutions.
Join us for a day of thoughtful discussions, engaging panels, and inspiring presentations. See you there!
