About this Event

Comedy Underground at the Grog has been a big hit the first few months we've been running shows there and this one promises to deliver another night of good fun! This showcase style of comedy features 6 comedians who perform all over New England with the potential for a special guest drop in! The show time will run the same length as our normal shows at the Grog even though it features more comedians.

We are excited to give you a fun night out that will benefit a great local cause! Your comedians for the evening are:

Host: Mark Moccia. Mark will be your host for the evening. Mark is a full time Technology guy who has a passion for giving back to charity and is a lifelong fan of standup comedy. He started performing comedy in 2019 and has performed all over New England including at Comix Mohegan Sun. Mark has recently shifted mostly into producing charity comedy shows to benefit local communities.

Featuring:

Mona Forgione. After fully retiring from competitive Roller Derby with 2 shoulders full of anchors, Mona Forgione has fully embraced being THAT cautionary tale of what a midlife crisis can create. A twice Finalist of the NorthEast ComicCon Comedy Battle Royale (2018 & 2019), current host of the Northeast ComicCon Comedy Battle Royale (2021-Present), Semifinalist of the 2020 Boston Comedy Festival (virtual), Portland Maine Comedy Festival 2022 Comedian, and radio appearances on FrankFm with Mike Morin, WGIR with Jack Heath, and WJYY with Nazzy Nazz - this stay-at-home mother of 3 has finally gone rogue.

Kathy Gilmour. After living in Key West for 20 years or so, Kathy recently moved back to the Boston area. She was a resident comedian at Comedy Key West and performed all over Key West and at the Orlando Improv. She was picked to perform at the Flamingo, Brickell, Portland ME, and the NY Underground Comedy Festivals. She recently competed at the Massachusetts and New England’s Funniest competitions. She current performs all over New England. Audiences relate to her dry, awkward take on everyday situations. Her inspiration comes from working with the general public for more than 20 years, traveling the world and mostly the clarity that comes from a good nap. She would almost always rather be home on her couch with her dog.

Bryan Muenzer. Bryan is very tall in stature and short in attention span so his jokes are mostly quick one liners. His sense of humor derives from a blend of being awkwardly tall and just plain awkward. He was a finalist in the 2022 New England funniest Comedian contest and performs regularly in Boston and New York City.

Ian Rice. Ian developed his sarcastic, dry sense of humor growing up in the mean streets of Amherst, New Hampshire but started his comedy career when living in New Orleans, Louisiana after realizing he can neither cook, nor play music. He has opened for touring headliners Wes Cannon, Clark Taylor, and Chrissie Mayr, and hosted the New York Comedy Show at the Hell Yes! Comedy Fest. He currently lives in Maine and performs stand-up throughout most of New England.

Mark Turcotte. Mark Turcotte is a married father of two and lifelong New Englander. Most of his material is mined from his family life, an adultlike curiosity, and a series of misfortunes. He’s the founder of Maine Event Comedy and was a finalist in the Funniest Comic on the East Coast Contest at Mohegan Sun and a semi-finalist at the World Series of Comedy in Sarasota, Florida. He was also part of the Gotham All-Stars Show in New York City and was a recent selection for the Boston, Cleveland, and North Carolina comedy festivals. Mark once facilitated a marriage proposal during a 2015 show in Biddeford, Maine…the couple is still married.

Mark believes in using his powers for good. In 2012, he began the Comedy Fix fundraising series, which raised money for a variety of local non-profits including The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Good Shepherd Food Bank, Advocates for Children, John F. Murphy Homes, Tree Street Youth, Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, and The Pixel Fund.

Zach Valencia. Zach performs all over New England was a finalist in the New Englands Funniest Competion.

...with special guest Ann Marie Keene!
