Every step you take on race day moves a young person closer to independence. The Race to Independence 5K benefits WAYS for Life, a nonprofit walking alongside youth ages 15 to 25 in Brevard County as they navigate the transition out of foster care and out of housing instability. Since 2020, WAYS for Life has supported over 581 members and 228 dependents, helping them find stable housing, finish their education, and build careers they can count on.Join us for a morning that's part race, part community celebration. Run or walk the certified 5K course, cheer on the kids in the Fun Run, and stick around for a festival built for the whole family, with a bounce house, face painting, and an Easter egg hunt for the little ones. Every registrant crosses the finish line with a medal, and every dollar raised goes straight toward housing support, career pathways, legal services, and mentorship for WAYS for Life members.
