THE BRASS & PERCUSSION PLAYERS OF THE FUTURE START HERE! Skunkworks Community is proud to present the Youth Band Festival — a full day dedicated to developing, inspiring and connecting the next generation of brass and percussion musicians.
We believe young musicians deserve the opportunity to learn from the very best.
That’s why we’re bringing together an extraordinary team of professional performers and educators from across Victoria and Australia, with tutors from:
Melbourne Symphony OrchestraOrchestra
Orchestra Victoria
Royal Australian Air Force Band
D2Drumline
SydneyCityBrass
Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School
…and more!
From our youngest developing musicians through to advanced players looking to take their playing to the next level, there really is something for everyone.
The day will be packed with:
Instrument-specific workshops
Masterclasses with leading professional musicians
Ensemble playing and section development
Opportunities to meet young musicians from other bands
A massed group performance
A special showcase performance from the Victorian State Youth Brass Band
And because musicians need fuel…
Morning tea AND lunch are included!
The Youth Band Festival isn't just about becoming a better player. It's about meeting people, building confidence, discovering what is possible and strengthening the brass and percussion community for the future.
One day.
Brilliant tutors.
Hundreds of new ideas.
A whole community making music together.
