The YMCA CommUNITY Run is a community-focused 5K and 10K event designed to bring people together through fitness, connection, and outdoor activity. Hosted by the YMCA of the Cedar Rapids Metro Area, this event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and ability levels.Both courses begin near the Marion YMCA and move through the scenic trails and natural setting of Lowe Park 🌿🌳, offering a safe and enjoyable route for participants.
🏆Prizes will be awarded to overall winner's of the 5K and 10K in both the men's and women's division. Medals will be awarded to the winner of each age group🏅
Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace while enjoying the park environment and the energy of a supportive community. Whether someone is running competitively or simply walking with friends and family, the event emphasizes:

The CommUNITY Run highlights the YMCA’s mission to strengthen community through wellness and engagement—offering a meaningful opportunity for the entire community to get outside, stay active, and come together.

Proceeds from the event directly support the YMCA’s impact in the community, with 50% benefiting community scholarships to increase access to YMCA programs, and the remaining 50% funding new fitness equipment and facility enhancements to improve the overall member experience.
