About this Event
Young people are struggling, and the adults around them often want to help without knowing where to begin. The 2026 Suicide Prevention Symposium is a half-day morning built for that gap.
Youth suicide prevention expert Emma White delivers the keynote, "It's Not OK, but It Will Be: What Adults and Parents Should Know About Youth Wellbeing," drawing on her work across schools, healthcare, and government settings along with her own lived experience. She'll cover communication that builds trust, emotional regulation, family engagement, and how to build support systems that hold steady across home, school, and care settings.
The morning also includes a youth-focused panel discussion and a presentation from NAMI Jacksonville.
Three CEUs, free of charge, are avilable for for LCSWs, LMFTs, and LMHCs.
Hosted by Child Guidance Center, serving Jacksonville's children and families since 1951. Sponsored by the Florida Department of Children and Families & LSF Health Systems.
