About this Event
We are excited to announce that the NRIN Annual Symposium 2026, with the central theme ‘Navigating with the renewed Dutch Code of Conduct for Research Integrity – novelties and challenges ahead’, will be held on 3rd December 2026 at Radboudumc.
This year’s symposium will feature a plenary discussion on the renewed Dutch Code of Conduct for Research Integrity and thematic workshop sessions designed to encourage interactive discussions and mutual learning on the relevance of the mandates and duties of care from the code to the different stakeholders (e.g. policy advisors, members of research integrity committees, confidential advisors on research integrity, researchers and educators). There will also be plenty of opportunities for networking!
The symposium is a free onsite event (registration required!) open to both the Dutch (Universities and Hogescholen) and international academic communities.
We invite academics, researchers, students, policy advisors, confidential advisors, members of research integrity committees and other non-academic staff to join us at this event, which promises to spark discussions and critical reflections on the novelties of the revised Code, the opportunities and challenges ahead!

Research Integrity Rounds
Research integrity dilemmas in the context of the revised Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity 2027
In Research Integrity Round#27, we will introduce the new code through a series of interactive case deliberations.
The revised code points to the importance of dialogue and deliberation about integrity issues. We step up to the plate with RIR#27. Principles and rules are general; they need interpretation to be of guidance in the specific integrity issues that confront us on the daily working floor of academic research. In case more principles and rules are at stake simultaneously or even conflict and steer us into diverse directions, we need to balance and judge how to navigate with integrity.
We will discuss specific issues from each of the phases of research mentioned in Chapter 3 of the code. The public is invited to take a position on dilemmas, discuss reasons and arguments for options, listen to each other's considerations, and, of course, take into account the principles and rules of the revised code
RIR#27 is organized in close collaboration with the .
