Take a walk through Mesa’s past during the Mesa Historical Museum’s annual Cemetery Tour!Explore the Mesa Cemetery at your own pace as guest narrators bring local history to life right at the gravesites of the people who lived it.
This year’s tour features fascinating stories from across Mesa’s history, including early pioneers and community builders, a longtime Mesa Chief of Police, a Confederate soldier who later settled in Mesa, a Deputy Marshal killed while pursuing Old West outlaws, Royal Air Force cadets who died while training at Falcon Field during World War II, and more.

Tours are self-guided and run throughout the event window, so there’s no need to arrive right at 8:00 AM. Follow the route at your own pace, stopping at each featured gravesite to hear its story. Please arrive by 9:30 AM to allow enough time to complete the tour.

Free admission with your Cemetery Tour wristband applies to the Mesa Historical Museum only. Arizona Baseball Museum admission is separate.
Good to Know:
The Cemetery Tour is an outdoor walking event held on uneven cemetery grounds. Comfortable walking shoes, water, and sun protection are recommended.
The event is rain or shine—if light rain is in the forecast, bring an umbrella! In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions, the Museum may postpone or cancel the tour.
All attendees must check in at the Mesa Historical Museum table near the Center Street entrance before beginning the tour.
