Join the Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce as we kick off the holiday season with one of the Island’s favorite traditions, The Lights of Dauphin Island! Each year, businesses, organizations, churches, clubs, neighborhoods, families, and individuals come together to transform Water Tower Plaza into a festive display of decorated Christmas trees. Each tree is sponsored and decorated by members of our community, creating a holiday display that reflects the people, businesses, and organizations that make Dauphin Island special.
Whether you want to decorate a tree of your own or simply come enjoy the lights, everyone is invited to be part of the celebration.

6:00 PM
Water Tower Plaza, Dauphin Island
Join us as we officially turn on the lights and reveal the 2026 display for the first time.
Enjoy an evening of Christmas lights, holiday music, hot chocolate, cookies, and a visit from Santa as we celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season on Dauphin Island.
The lighting ceremony is weather permitting. Updates will be shared if weather requires changes to the event schedule.
Sponsor & Decorate a Tree
The Lights of Dauphin Island is a community event, and anyone can sponsor a tree. Chamber membership is not required, and you do not have to live or work on Dauphin Island to participate.
Businesses can showcase their personality and creativity. Churches, nonprofits, clubs, neighborhoods, families, and individuals can create a tree that represents their group, honors someone special, or simply shares a little Christmas cheer.
Each sponsorship includes a tree at Water Tower Plaza for you to decorate and a sign identifying your business, organization, family, or group.
2026 Tree Sponsorship
Early Bird: $125* per tree
Available through 12:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28
Regular Price: $150* per tree
Begins after the Early Bird deadline.
*Online payment will include a $5 convenience fee.
Decorating Your Tree
Sponsors are responsible for decorating their own trees. We encourage everyone to get creative and make their tree unique while keeping decorations suitable for an outdoor display.
A few important requirements:
LED lights only
Decorations must be secured for outdoor weather and wind
Trees may not be spray-painted, flocked, or chemically altered
Lights should remain OFF until the official lighting ceremony
Sponsors are responsible for completing their tree before the decorating deadline
Keeping the trees free from paint, flocking, and other chemical treatments allows them to be repurposed after the Christmas season for community and Island uses.
Additional decorating dates, deadlines, and instructions will be provided to registered tree sponsors.
Take Home a Christmas Tree
New for 2026, Island residents will also have the opportunity to order a Christmas tree to take home!
When we place our tree order for The Lights of Dauphin Island, Islanders can reserve a tree of their own. Take-home trees will be available for pickup at Water Tower Plaza on the scheduled tree delivery day.
This is separate from sponsoring a tree for The Lights of Dauphin Island display. Trees ordered through the take-home program belong to the purchaser and can be picked up and taken home when the shipment arrives.
Take-Home Tree Orders Include:
A fresh Christmas tree reserved as part of our community tree order
Convenient pickup on Dauphin Island
Pickup at Water Tower Plaza on tree delivery day
No Chamber membership required
This new option gives Islanders an easy way to bring a Christmas tree home while our community trees arrive for another season of The Lights of Dauphin Island.
Early Bird: $125* per tree
Available through 12:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28
Regular Price: $150* per tree

More Than Christmas Decorations
The Lights of Dauphin Island is about more than filling Water Tower Plaza with Christmas trees. It is an opportunity for the entire community to come together during the holiday season.
Every sponsored tree helps build a display that residents and visitors can enjoy throughout the Christmas season while supporting the work of the Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce and local charitable efforts.
Last year, dozens of trees helped turn Water Tower Plaza into a celebration of the businesses, organizations, families, and people who make Dauphin Island such a special community. We want to make the 2026 display even brighter.
Sponsor a tree. Decorate it your way. Then join us on December 5 as we light them all together.
