Three days of Native community, culture, learning and connection.
What began as a smaller educational gathering has evolved into the Indigenous Roots Community Summit: a weekend designed to bring Native families, community leaders, organizations and allies together for cultural connection, shared learning and community-led conversations.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2 - COMMUNITY KICKOFF
Come together as we open Indigenous Roots 2026 with a day centered on community, connection and Native voices.
The Community Kickoff at Indian Health Care Resource Center will include community and resource tables, connection and light refreshments.
Friday also includes the Memory and Connection on the Mother Road exhibition opening at NYU Tulsa. The exhibition features nine Native artists representing nine Tribal Nations whose lands Route 66 travels through in Oklahoma, plus screenings of Meet Me at the Creek and Go West, Young Man.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 - PROGRAMS + WORKSHOPS
Saturday programming includes sessions, workshops, hands-on activities and opportunities to connect with Native artists, organizations, culture bearers and community partners.
5:00–8:00 p.m. — Indigenous Roots Benefit Dinner + Comedy Show at the Museum of Tulsa History
Featuring an Indigenous Roots community showcase, museum grounds exploration, keynote address, dinner and a comedy show.
Dr. Michelle Johnson-Jennings (Choctaw Nation) will serve as keynote speaker for the 2026 Indigenous Roots Benefit Dinner.
The evening will also feature a Native comedy show from Rezzy Jams/Full Blood Productions featuring Sondra Slade, Jordan Jayi, Brent Deo and Zebadiah Nofire.
A silent auction will benefit participating Native-serving and community organizations.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4 - FAMILY FUN DAY
A day for Native families, friends and community to gather, connect and celebrate.
Family Fun Day at Veterans Park will bring the community together for music, food, crafts and culture.
