Come to Peninsula Fruit Club’s Fall Fruit Tasting Show for a fun day of fruit tasting and learning about growing fruit. Here’s your chance to sample from hundreds of locally grown apples, pears, and other fruit from our huge display and find a new favorite. Keep track of what you like, and you may be able to have a tree of it made at our Spring Grafting Show in March 2027. The vast majority of these varieties aren’t available in any store, and some are quite rare. It’s also a good opportunity to get your mystery apples identified. Choose apples with normal color and shape. Bring 6 ripe samples of each kind, do not wash or wipe the fruit, leave the stems on, and store in the fridge in a paper sack. Bring a 12” long branch with leaves in a ziplocked plastic bag. Do not use bread bags, saran wrap, or paper bags for the leaves, as they dry in one day. Remember paper for apples and plastic for leaves. Label each bag so you know which tree they came from. Tell us all you can about the apples: Where is the tree? When do they ripen? Do they fall when ripe? How long do they keep? How old and tall is the tree? How big is the trunk? There will also be educational displays, trees and supplies for sale, and experts to talk to. Come for a taste as well as a spectacular visual display of fruit on Oct. 24, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm at the West Side Improvement Club, 4109 West E St., Bremerton, WA 98312.
