A downtown tradition returns this October!Downtown Trick or Treat is on Friday, October 23, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Bring your little ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and princesses (age 12 and under) to Downtown Elk River for an afternoon of safe, family-friendly fun. Local businesses and organizations welcome trick-or-treaters while enjoying all the activities along the way.
- Take fall family photos at the display located in Rivers Edge Commons Park
- Visit the animals at the petting zoo
- Grab delicious food from the food trucks (Mac's Mini Donuts and hot dogs from Elk River Lions Club)
- Dance along to our DJ's spooky tunes
- Visit with public safety and utility officials and their trucks
- Watch Elk River Lutheran's fire show at 5:30 p.m. on their new front patio
Special thanks to the Downtown Elk River Business Association and Spikes and Houles for making this event and downtown full of Halloween magic!
Non-downtown groups interested in participating should contact DERBA by October 1.
2026 event map and participating businesses will be posted mid-October.
NOTE: downtown street closures will occur for this event. Information will be posted later to the event date.
