🎄✨ Mount Airy Christmas Parade ✨🎄📅 Saturday, November 21
⏰ 5:00 PM
📍 Downtown Mount Airy
Kick off the holiday season with one of Mount Airy’s favorite traditions — the Mount Airy Christmas Parade! 🎅🎁
Join us in Downtown Mount Airy for an evening filled with festive floats, marching groups, community organizations, local businesses, twinkling lights and plenty of Christmas cheer as we celebrate the most wonderful time of the year!
💚 NEW THIS YEAR: SENSORY-FRIENDLY AREA
We’re excited to introduce a designated Sensory-Friendly Area along the parade route to help make the Christmas Parade more comfortable and enjoyable for individuals and families who may be sensitive to loud noises, flashing lights and other sensory stimulation.
📍 The Sensory-Friendly Area will begin at the fork of N. Main Street and Elm Street, continue through the residential area and banking district, and end at Independence Boulevard. Signs will clearly mark the beginning and end of the designated area.
Spectators who would prefer or benefit from a quieter, lower-sensory parade experience are encouraged to find a viewing spot within this designated area. Families, caregivers and individuals of all ages are welcome to enjoy the parade from this section of the route.
While traveling through the Sensory-Friendly Area, parade participants will be asked to:
• Refrain from sounding sirens, air horns and vehicle horns
• Lower the volume of music, speakers and sound systems
• Avoid sudden or excessively loud noises
• Minimize flashing or strobing lights
• Avoid unnecessary engine revving
• Keep announcements and voices at a moderate volume
🎄 The waving, smiling and Christmas spirit are still highly encouraged!
Once participants pass the end of the Sensory-Friendly Area, normal parade sounds and activities may resume.
We hope this new addition allows even more members of our community to comfortably experience the magic and tradition of the Mount Airy Christmas Parade.
Gather your family and friends, find your favorite spot along the route and join us as Christmas comes to Downtown Mount Airy! 🎅🏼🎄✨
