Please join us for our annual church and ministry seminar sponsored by Monica J. Stern, CPA, PLLC and the Church and Ministry Law Group of Schmitt Schneck Even & Williams, PC.
We are grateful to Paradise Valley United Methodist Church for hosting and live streaming the event again this year.
Monica Stern, Certified Public Accountant, will present topics important to churches and ministries:
- Provisions of the "One Big Beautiful Bill" and its 2026 effect on donors, employees and employers;
- AI for Churches - a panel discussion;
- DOL and Contractors - new, old rules;
- War Stories - A Tale of Three Embezzlements and how to prevent it;
- Foreign Activities - what you need to know;
- Handling Cash at Events - best practices;
- Other topics of importance to churches and ministries.
J ulie Froke, IRS Enrolled Agent, will present:
- Understanding and Using Your Balance Sheet
Barbara Starley, CPA will present:
- Best Practices for Budgeting
Additional topics will be added and are subject to change based on current activities in the tax and business world. If you would like a particular topic discussed at the seminar, email Monica at [email protected]. This seminar is for you, so ask your questions! We are happy to cover any accounting or tax topic related to churches and other nonprofit organizations.
Attorney Robert Erven Brown, head of the Church & Ministry Law Group at Schmitt Schneck Even & Williams, PC will be joining us again this year, as will nonprofit tax attorney Jon Ruybalid..
Jon Ruybalid will present a Current Legal Update for Churches and Ministries. Bob will be joined by Andy Everroad to present Key Real Property Issues for Churches.

There is no charge for this ticket.
The login information and the seminar information will be emailed to you the day before. PLEASE REGISTER EVERYONE INDIVIDUALLY WITH THEIR EMAIL OR THEY WILL NOT RECEIVE STREAMING LOGIN INFORMATION.
We will also post the handouts on our website www. mjsterncpa.com. The login information will be inside the pdf too. Please do not wait to register as we will not be able to respond to you during the event.

There will be a limited number of seats for the live presentation.
·A live, in-person ticket cost is $12. This is to help prevent no-shows and avoid excess food waste. We pay all ticket fees.
A light breakfast as well as coffee and tea will be served to those attending. The Paradise Perk will be open and selling specialty drinks.
·We will have 10 or so vendor booths at the event. Bring your business card for door prizes.
For everyone's protection, please do not attend if you are not feeling well. You are invited to watch the live stream. We can't wait to see you all and look forward to a wonderful event.
