Join us for the third annual Checkmate Challenge, a Community Chess Tournament, at Lindbergh High School!
EVENT DETAILS
Date: Sunday, November 8th, 2026
Time: Check-in/walk-in registration begins at 9:00 am; tournament play is scheduled to begin at 9:45 am. The tournament consists of three rounds, Swiss System (everyone plays all three rounds), and is expected to end by around 1:00 pm.
Location: Lindbergh High School, 5000 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63126 (Commons Entrance)
Participants: All ages 5 and up are welcome, including adults! We're planning five divisions*:
Ages 5-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-16, and 17+.
*Divisions may shift depending on how many players register in each age group. If a younger player is more experienced, they're welcome to play up in an older division.
Prizes: Medals and trophies awarded for top players in all divisions; trophies and *cash* prizes awarded for top winners in the 13-16 and 17+ divisions!
Please note that this is not a drop-off event, and parental supervision is required for anyone 16 years or younger.
