About this Event
Get into the spooky spirit with Artober at Locust Street Art! 🎃
Over sixty seasonally themed artworks are on display and up for auction.
What is Artober?
During the month of October, we invite our students and local artists to create artwork inspired by a spooky prompt list made by our staff. These 5"x7" works are donated to support LSA, displayed throughout the end of October, and auctioned off in the leadup to the Artober Reception!
The Artober Reception will feature Karaoke, a costume contest, spooky storytelling, and light refreshments. Bidding starts at $15—take a piece of artwork home and support our community art classes in the process!
This event is free to attend.
Spooky Storytelling by Meg Specksgoor
Meg is a local artist and author. Last year, she shared one of her "crankies", an 18th century era storytelling art form blending performance, animation, and illustration. Meg will be returning this year to share more of her spooky stories and art—join us on October 24th to see what she shares this year!
Creepy Activities for All Ages
This year, we will be having a costume contest! Don your most elaborate, whimsical, awesome, or ominous halloween costume and enter for a chance to win our grand prize... $50 towards a workshop of your choosing!
We will also have Karaoke for all ages. Choose your own song, or pick from our Halloween playlist!
