Grief Support Group
Join us for our free bi-weekly 19+ Grief Support Group on Thursdays at Our Place - 1592-A 10 Ave Fernie, BC.
This in-person drop-in group provides a supportive space for individuals and families who are experiencing grief in any form. Whether you are mourning the loss of a loved one, pet or relationship, our group offers a compassionate environment where you can share your feelings, connect with others who understand, and find comfort in community.
If you feel unsure about a group setting please know, we welcome you to explore with no obligation. There is no requirement to share and you are free to leave at any point in the evening.
Our experienced facilitators will guide discussions and provide helpful resources to assist you on your grieving journey. While the group can bring up heavy emotions, there is also a lot of space made for funny stories about our loved ones, coping with humour, and building connection.

Format
- We open the group by sharing the group guidelines and lighting a candle to honour our loss.
- We then make space for sharing and discussion.
- If time permits and participants are willing we will use creativity to explore feelings of grief.
- We then close the group with a grounding activity.
Please note: We recommend waiting 8 weeks before attending a support group if your loss is recent.

Mirey Faema (She/Her)
Registed Psychotherapist (RP), Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #20791), Canadian Certified Counsellor ( C.C.C.)
Mirey is passionate about building connections with individuals and families who have experienced grief, complex trauma, and life transitions. She takes a collaborative, integrated approach to help people find healing and symptom reduction.
Throughout the group Mirey draws from therapeutic knowledge and personal experiences of loss to help guide conversations and facilitate reflection and processing.
