:::
1916 is a Rochester, NY-born Irish punk band blending Celtic rock, psychobilly, rebel-song tradition, and full-throttle punk energy into a sound built for raised pints and loud rooms. What began in 2006 as an acoustic act playing Irish rebel tunes in local bars has grown into a high-energy Celtic punk force known for rowdy live shows, foot-stomping hooks, and a chaotic spirit all their own.
With releases including A Drop of the Pure, Revolutions, and their latest album Conscience of Kings, produced by punk legend Ted Hutt, 1916 has built a loyal following across the Northeast and beyond. Their music fuses upright bass, mandolin, accordion, banjo, and gritty punk rock energy into a sound that feels both deeply rooted and completely unhinged.
Over the years, 1916 has shared stages with major acts including Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, Stiff Little Fingers, The Mahones, Street Dogs, The Tossers, Gaelic Storm, The Offspring, Rancid, Twenty One Pilots, and more. Loud, fast, rebellious, and proudly Rochester-made, 1916 continues to carry the Celtic punk flag with grit, humor, and plenty of mayhem.
