180th Church Anniversary and Homecoming Service
Second Baptist Church, 1400 Idlewood Avenue, Richmond, VA 23220
Guest Minister - Rev. Dr. Proctor N. Beard, Sr., First Shiloh Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, VA
This Black church, born during slavery in the former capital of the Confederacy, Richmond, Virginia, is still alive and thriving.
In 1846, fifty-one people of African Heritage courageously and voluntarily withdrew from the white Second Baptist congregation, and the Second African Baptist Church was established.
It’s now called Second Baptist Church, at 1400 Idlewood Avenue, in the Randolph community of Richmond, Virginia.
Help us celebrate our rich history!
