You don’t need a trip to the movie theater or a haunted house to get your creep on this year—the Gilpin Historical Society's 17th Annual Creepy Crawl allows you to peer into the dark recesses of Gilpin County's history while walking the hallways of Central City’s historic landmark buildings. Voted one of the 10 Best Haunted Tours by Westword in 2013.
The 60+ minute walking tours are led by guides from Gilpin Historical Society and feature hair-raising reenactments of murders, bone chilling ghostly encounters, and other creepy happenings. All of the stories are based on true events from Gilpin County's past.
Tours begin at 6:30 p.m., and a new tour departs every 30 minutes until 8:30 p.m., no matter the weather. Significant walking is involved, including steep hills and stairways, so sturdy shoes and a healthy spirit are a must. Not recommended for children under 10. Please be certain of the date and time you purchase tickets for, especially if attending with friends. We do our best to accommodate mistakes but tours often sell-out and this is not always possible.
Attendees are asked to check in at least 10 minutes before their scheduled tour time on the lower level of the Century Casino (102 Main St., Central City). Please note that the ticket price includes Central City's mandatory admission tax on ticketed events.
