About this Event
Join us for an exciting, practical Applied Data Analytics bootcamp designed to empower you with the skills to build smart connected systems and master data-driven decision making. Over this immersive experience, you'll learn how to collect, analyze, and visualize data from IoT devices, transforming raw sensor streams into meaningful insights. Whether you're a beginner or looking to deepen your knowledge, this event offers an opportunity to learn engineering principles, pitch ideas, and drive innovation —perfect for those eager to innovate, craft impactful solutions, and confidently showcase their projects.
Day 1: Introduction and Data Capture Workshop + Lunch
- Lesson 1: Bootcamp on Data-Driven Systems
Understand IoT data lifecycle, sensor data capture, and basic breadboard exercises. - Lesson 2: Connecting Data Sources & APIs
Hands-on: Connect devices via local networks/APIs, build basic real-time data send to dashboard.
Day 2: Data Flow Workshop
- Implement an end‑to‑end workflow from data collection to visualization. Configure sensors, define schema structures, and stream live data to your local environment.
Day 3: Dashboards & Data Pipelines
- Design principles for effective data visualization, focusing on usability and real-time data interaction.
- Create a complete pipeline from sensors to local storage. Preprocess, filter, and visualize live data to uncover trends and patterns.
Day 5: Design Thinking for Data Solutions
- Translate analytical insights into meaningful solutions. Use design thinking to conceptualize and prototype IoT applications that deliver measurable data value.
- Prototype idealisation, peers review and refine prototypes.
Day 6: Storytelling and Demo
- Lesson 1: Learn how to tell a compelling story around your project: problem, solution, impact, and scalability.
- Lesson 2: Best practices for presenting engineering projects.
- Presentations & constructive feedback.
