Kiwanis International prides itself on serving the children of the world. We appreciate your help in making it possible to make a difference in the Greater Sacramento area, by playing in our Swing “Fore” Kids golf tournament. The Citrus Heights Kiwanis Club was chartered in 1972. It is part of Kiwanis International which has over 600,000 volunteer members in over 90 countries dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
Internationally, Kiwanis has raised over $100 million dollars to virtually eliminate Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD), the leading cause of preventable mental illness in the world and over $90 million dollars towards eradicating maternal/neonatal tetanus.
Regionally, we helped build, maintain, and operate the Kiwanis Family House, located adjacent to UCD Medical Center. Kiwanis Family House provides temporary housing for the families of critically ill children at the Medical Center. It has been open 24/7 since July of 1984. Last year we hosted over 1,500 families.
Locally, we sponsor three high school Key Clubs, an Aktion Club and one K-Kids Club. Serving the communities of Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, and Orangevale, we provide numerous scholarships each year. We recognize and encourage students for improving grades with incentives (BUG program - Bring Up Grades). We support food banks and make donations to many different charities annually in order to improve the lives of children.
Funds from this tournament will allow us to continue, as well as enhance, these efforts.
