For 150 years, local not for profit The Y Southland has been shaped by its people. On Friday 16 October, those people take centre stage.150 Faces of The Y is a free public exhibition celebrating The Y's 150th birthday and some of the many Southlanders who have made it what it is today. Presented in partnership with He Waka Tuia, it brings art to the heart of The Y.
The 150th face has been left open, because it belongs to you.
Step up to the Polaroid station, snap your photo and add it to the wall. Everyone who adds a photo goes in the draw to win a year's gym membership and a prize pack, thanks to Shoe Clinic and JB Hi-Fi Invercargill.
Build your own nostalgic mix at the candy bar to snack on while you browse, enjoy face painting for the kids, and a DJ on the decks.
Pop in with your workmates or bring the kids after school, and browse the faces and stories that have helped shape this place.
Can't make it Friday? The exhibition is also open for viewing on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 October during staffed hours (7am to 9pm.)
Date: Friday 16 October 2026
