In this hands-on workshop, participants will create their own Omamori, a traditional Japanese fabric charm associated with wishes, protection and good fortune. Omamori are small, personal objects, and making one by hand gives each participant the chance to put their own intention into something they can keep and carry with them.Throughout the session, Kanae will share the cultural background of Omamori: where they come from, what they represent, and why they hold such meaning in Japanese tradition. This context will help participants connect more deeply with the charm they are creating, so that it becomes more than a craft object.
She will then guide everyone step by step through simple embroidery and hand-stitching techniques. No previous sewing experience is needed, as each stage will be explained and demonstrated clearly, at a gentle pace. By the end of the workshop, each participant will take home a meaningful keepsake made with their own hands.
The workshop is suitable for beginners and can be adapted for different abilities, so that everyone can take part comfortably and enjoy the creative process.
This class is sponsored by Evoc and is for women only
