Come discover the joy of soy at the 14th Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival, to be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at The Event Center at St. Mary's Cathedral, within walking distance of the Japantown Peace Plaza. The event features food vendors, artisan vendors, free samples, cooking demonstrations and workshops, live performances, the SOY-FUL Youth Art Contest Gallery and raffle.
Admission is $5 and open to the public. There will be FREE parking at The Event Center, and a shuttle to and from the Peace Plaza so that you stay to shop in Japantown afterwards.
This year featuring a larger number of food vendors, including:

• Wafu Dogs by the Pine United Methodist Church

• Sisig by The Laughing Monk

• Koto Yuki Band, a koto jazz fusion group
• Kulintaiko, a Filipino kulintang/Japanese taiko jazz fusion ensemble
• Eclipse (https://eclipsekpop.dance), a K-Pop dance group
• Gee Yung Lion and Dragon Dance
• IWA DAIKO, a new taiko ensemble from Sacramento
• Wesley Ukulele Band from San Jose’s Japantown
There will be onstage cooking demonstrations:
• Yuba with Chef Henry Hsu of ORAMASAMA
• Sisig with Chef Reina Montenegro of The Laughing Monk
• Tofu Tiramisu with Okara Ladyfingers, hojicha, and kinako with Tamako Park-Li, a multiple past Tofu Dessert Competition winner
• Natto with Kota Morikawa, Nichi Bei Foundation resident chef
Cooking Workshops:
• Soy/Tofu Ice Cream Parfaits with Tamako Park-Li ($50)
• And a tofu-making workshop with Henry Hsu of ORAMASAMA ($75)
A fundraiser for the Nichi Bei Foundation, partial proceeds will benefit the Nikkei Community Internship and Japantown Youth Leaders programs of the Japanese Community Youth Council.
