About this Event
This is the nation’s largest conference on Physical Activity & Wellness for First Nations, Métis and Inuit people, created for all of those with an interest in sports, recreation, fitness, and traditional activity. Join us on May 14 & 15, 2027 (Friday and Saturday) for this exciting conference in West Vancouver, BC, on Squamish Nation territory.
IPACC is proud to partner with UBC's Indigenous Health and Physical Activity program in hosting the 2027 National Indigenous Physical Activity & Wellness (NIPAW) Conference – working together to celebrate and advance Indigenous sport, health, and community wellness. This year's conference theme highlights the power of traditional sports to create wholistic health and well-being, connection, and community strength.
We are excited to bring together over 30 diverse leader voices at NIPAW 2027, where they will share perspectives on the vital role of Indigenous knowledge and community-based practices that enhance wellness. This year, the NIPAW conference will focus on the importance of traditional sports and how physical activity can uplift people, honour traditional ways of being active, and strengthen community wellness for future generations.
This gathering is more than a conference–it’s a space to connect, learn, and celebrate together. Let’s come together to create a brighter future by embracing and promoting wholistic approaches to wellness. Be part of the movement at www.iactive.ca.
