14th International Cultural Encounter – “The Time Is Now”
Experience the energy, rhythm and culture of Brazil at A Hora é Essa 2026, an international Capoeira gathering by Capoeira Cordão de Ouro Malaysia.
Capoeira is a unique Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines martial arts, movement, acrobatics, music and rhythm. It is played inside a circle called a roda, accompanied by traditional instruments, clapping and singing.
The event brings together Capoeira practitioners, instructors and guests from Malaysia and overseas, with highlights including Capoeira workshops, live demonstrations, traditional music, cultural performances, a Capoeira competition, and Batizado & Troca de Cordas — the traditional grading ceremony where students receive their first belt or progress to a new level.
You do not need to practise Capoeira to enjoy the event. Families, children, martial arts enthusiasts and anyone curious about Brazilian culture are welcome.
