if Dunbar is part of your story, this celebration is for you. 💜💛Join us Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dunbar Magnet Middle School, 1100 Wright Avenue, for a free day of performances, food, fashion, family activities, and community pride.
Little Rock’s historic Black community has given us so much to celebrate. John E. Bush helped found the Mosaic Templars of America. Florence B. Price and William Grant Still made their mark in music. Sue Cowan Williams challenged unequal pay for Black teachers, and attorney Scipio Africanus Jones fought for justice. Their stories are part of the legacy we’re gathering to honor. Whether you attended a school in or around Dunbar, worshiped with a nearby congregation, spent time on Ninth Street, or traveled Chester Street or Wright Avenue, we want you there. Bring your family, invite an old classmate, and help us celebrate the people who shaped this community and those carrying it forward.
