Saxophonist Greg Nielsen is a composer perhaps best known for his work with Iceburn and the Iceburn Collective.
Gregory has been active in the Salt Lake City music scene, performing with groups including Features Form, Squadra Anti Mostro, Cavedoll, Suicycles, Experiment in Being Awake, Dirge Quartet, Degenerate Quartet, Theta Naught, and Only Kids Quartet. He has also composed commercial music for television and original projects for streaming services. Gregory is a graduate of the University of Utah, where he studied music composition.
Mustafa Bin Javed’s film, The Ashes, follows Manmeet, a grieving Pakistani immigrant, and her ex-military roommate Ruth as a disagreement over how to honor Manmeet’s late father’s ashes becomes an emotional confrontation about identity, grief, and belonging.
Mustafa Bin Javed is a filmmaker whose fiction and nonfiction work explores identity, displacement, and human connection. He has directed, produced, and edited more than 30 short films, with his work screening at festivals across the U.S. and internationally.
vbot will present a piece that showcases improv and flow on many levels, with VR live painting in the real world, dance, lights, projections, hoops, glimpses of 4D, and performed to Rossini's Guillaume Tell: Overture.
vbot or vbotdancebot is an artist/performing artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts w/focus in Art History, has a Japanese Minor, has almost obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, will be continuing onto a master's in psychology, and possibly a PHD, is a performing artist for 20 years which includes specializing in hula hoops and fire performance, has a background with laser shows at the Clark Planetarium for a few years, and twitch performer for over 2 years. Wilbot will be my tech helper robot for this live performance, and vbot is hoping to evolve the flow of psychology in the realm of flow arts to support health and the needs of all. Dance, music, and art therapy are daily tools that she uses for her mental and physical health.
12 Minutes Max is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend and colleague Paul Reynolds: artist, librarian, and patron of the arts. The 12 Minutes Max program is a curated monthly performance series featuring experimental short works by local artists in many different disciplines, including dance, music, film, and more. Each piece is followed by a Q&A with the artist. 12MM is modeled after the program originated by On the Boards in Seattle.
