11am Upper Winchester Guided Walking Tour

A tour of 1½ hours visiting some important historical sites of upper Winchester with one of our friendly and informative tour guides.
About this Event

Join one of Winchester’s professional guides for a 90 minute walking tour, starting at Winchester Visitor Information Centre.

The tour explores the historical sites in the upper part of the city including the Cathedral, High Street, Westgate and Great Hall. It ends at the original Winchester Castle site which was also the site of King Charles II's palace. Tours do not go inside the Great Hall.

Adult tickets are £12 and can be booked in advance online or on the day from the Visitor Information Centre, if still available. Accompanied children under 16 are free. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Please bear in mind that the upper part of Winchester is fairly steep. The tour will take place in rain or shine so please dress appropriately and wear sensible footwear.

Adult ticket: £12

Child Ticket - Free for under 16s. You will need to undertake a separate second transaction to the one used to purchase the adult tickets in your group. When booking for the children select the number of children's tickets you require under general admission category, enter the promotional code CHILDFREE and click apply. This allows the tickets to be purchased for free. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Carer Ticket - Tickets for an essential carer are free. You will need to undertake a separate second transaction to the one used to purchase the other tickets for your group. Please select one ticket under general admission category, enter the promotional code CARERFREE and click apply. This allows the tickets to be purchased for free.

Tickets can be bought via Eventbrite until 9am on the morning of the tour. After this any remaining tickets can be purchased in the Visitor Information Centre.
