About this Event

Welcome to the 1177 Fall Forum.

The 1177 Fall Forum brings together the CWCB Board, Interbasin Compact Committee (IBCC), and Basin Roundtables for two days of conversation, collaboration, and shared learning. This annual gathering is designed to spark meaningful dialogue, strengthen relationships across basins, and identify opportunities to work together to advance Colorado’s water future.

This year’s Fall Forum is intentionally streamlined, creating a smaller and more intimate setting that maintains the culture of learning and dialogue that has characterized past statewide gatherings. The program combines deliberate opportunities for input and peer learning through the All Chairs meeting, IBCC Meeting, and the Roundtable Peer Connect Workshop with unstructured time to catch up with colleagues, exchange ideas, and enjoy the fall setting.

The evening program will provide an opportunity to step back, reflect on where we have been, and look ahead to the work before us. Matt Lindburg will kick off the speaker series with a look at upcoming work and opportunities for engagement through the Technical Update. Kelsea MacIlroy will share the culmination of a year of interviews and research examining Colorado’s water stakeholder framework, including the basin roundtables and the IBCC, as they mark 20 years. Her presentation will reflect on what has worked, what we have learned, and opportunities to strengthen these frameworks for the next two decades. CWCB Director Lauren Ris will close the evening with reflections on the CWCB, the direction ahead, and a Q&A focused on questions and perspectives from water users and partners across the state.

While the program is shorter, the opportunity to pause from day-to-day work, share perspectives, and consider what comes next is particularly valuable as Colorado’s water community navigates both immediate challenges of this year’s drought and longer-term planning ahead. The Forum is a space to reflect, learn, and renew our shared purpos. The Welcome Reception on Wednesday night, the IBCC Meeting, afternoon Roundtable Peer Connect Workshop, Pre-Reception Networking Hour, and evening Fall Forum Dinner and Speakers are open to all registered attendees. All attendees are welcome and encouraged to participate.
