This one is special.Dave Madden has taken his 11:59 Songwriting Group to all new territory by establishing an official 501(c)3 non-profit. We're very excited at Sessions on Mary to host this showcase and help spread the word.
Dave Madden is a musical powerhouse. Dave was voted Best Music Arranger at the AMP Austin Music Industry Awards and Top 10 Best Keyboardists as voted by the Austin Chronicle's Music Poll. He's a member of the Recording Academy and a voting member for the Grammy's.
The 11:59 Songwriting Group has about 60 members who produced over 180 new songs this past year. Since its inception in 2018, the group has created well over 1,200 new songs.
But the numbers aside, 11:59 provides mentorship, accountability, and networking opportunities to a diverse group of artists. Over the years, because of the caliber and diversity of its members, 11:59 has become a meaningful incubator of purposeful creativity.

Joining Dave for this showcase are Akina Adderley, Patrick Buchta, and Sofia Villarreal.
Drawing comparisons to Tina Turner and Sharon Jones, Akina’s stage presence is captivating and electrifying. Akina has released two records with her 8-piece soul band, Akina Adderley & The Vintage Playboys, a batch of soul/rock singles under her own name, and four records as the co-writer and lead vocalist of alt. jazz group, Nori (twice nominated for Best Jazz in the Austin Chronicle Music Awards).
Patrick Buchta is an experienced advocate, cause marketing professional, and creative leader dedicated to advancing Austin’s music, policy, and nonprofit sectors. As Executive Director of Austin Texas Musicians, he has built one of Central Texas’s most influential advocacy networks, uniting over 6,000 musicians to drive policy reform, strengthen economic opportunities, and preserve the cultural heartbeat of the Live Music Capital of the World.
Sofia Villarreal is an upright and electric bass player, producer, composer, and educator dedicated to using music as a catalyst for positive change. She believes in the healing power of music and aims to spread that energy both with and away from the instrument. Sofia finished her undergraduate degree at Berklee College of Music, involved with both the Berklee Jazz and Gender Justice Institute and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.

Advance tickets and/or reservations are encouraged. Doors are at 7:30 pm; show begins at 8:00 pm. This show will be set up listening room style with ample seating available.
