The celebration comes as the theatre enjoys an incredible run of live shows, including four sold-out nights with Australian icons The Drones. International artists like John Maus, Cass McCombs, Cola and have also hit the Thornbury stage this year, with plenty more still to come just in October with New Zealand’s Princess Chelsea bringing her Australian debut tour to the theatre this Saturday, followed by Mudhoney and Spike Fuck later in the month.
Originally opened in the 1920s as a picture theatre, the building later became a ballroom and reception venue before taking on its present life as a contemporary performance space.
