About this Event
About the series
100% Unfiltered: How to Human is a series of facilitated conversations at Bettr Coffee where we figure out everyday life together. Each session takes one very ordinary, very human thing and unpacks it over good food — no experts on a stage, no judgement, no pretending anyone's got it all sorted.
This session — How to be the new kid
Nobody hands you a manual for being new. Not on your first day of school, when you're circling the canteen with your tray pretending you're "just looking." Not when the teacher says "share one fun fact about yourself" and your brain deletes every fact you've ever known. And definitely not at your first job, when the printer jams and the whole office turns to watch.
Being new is awkward everywhere. New class, new CCA, new job, new gym where everyone already knows which machine is "theirs." It's the same sweaty-palm feeling every time.
Johara and Elly were the newest people at Bettr not long ago (interns are basically professional new kids). They're bringing their honest stories, the wins and the fumbles, as a starting point. The rest of the night is about swapping yours, and meeting a few people who get it.
Starting school, a job, a new hobby, or just want to meet people without the pressure? Come as you are. Zero experience needed. Questions and awkwardness very welcome.
