Come decorate a proper witch’s besom with the Witches of Riverside Drive on Sunday, October 11 from 5–7 PM.
We’re giving you the broom. We’re giving you the florals, bells, lace, ribbon, charms, feathers, wire, glue, and enough decorative temptation to make “I’ll keep mine simple” a completely unrealistic promise.
Your workshop includes one 36" broom in your choice of Cinnamon, Apple, or Cinnamon & Orange, plus dried floral stems, faux florals, bells, ribbon, lace, charms, wire, feathers, hot glue, and additional adhesives.
Got your own little stash of treasures? Bring it. Beads, charms, crystals, bones, ribbons, old jewelry, feathers, trinkets, strange little objects you’ve been saving for absolutely no defensible reason. This is their moment.
And yes, there’s actual witchy history here.
A besom is a traditional broom that became associated with folk magic, household protection, cleansing, and threshold work. In modern witchcraft, besoms are often used to symbolically sweep away stagnant energy, prepare ritual space, protect the home, or mark the boundary between what gets welcomed in and what can kindly get the fuck out.
Which, frankly, is a solid household policy.
Your finished besom can hang above a doorway, live beside your altar, become part of your seasonal rituals, guard your threshold, or simply exist on your wall looking dramatically superior to everyone else’s home decor.
Make it earthy. Make it gothic. Make it feral. Make it so excessively adorned that minimalism files a restraining order.
