This month, we're hearing from Tim Fletcher, founder of The Tim Fletcher Show, LLC.
Tim spent nearly two decades as a Shreveport TV sportscaster and sports-talk radio host. At 47, a scheduling conflict closed the door on his TV career, and The Tim Fletcher Show on 1130 The Tiger became his only gig. He had spent the previous six years buying his own airtime and selling his own advertising, but he no longer had the TV parachute.
Now in its 27th year, the show has grown into the biggest sports content provider in Shreveport-Bossier, carrying around 35 sponsors at times during football season. Tim expanded the brand with a Friday-night TV highlight show, live radio simulcasts available as a podcast, and a recurring cast and guest lineup. He also buys the airtime and sells the advertising for several other shows on 1130 The Tiger and for Friday Football Frenzy on 101.7 FM/710 KEEL. Together, that adds up to 9 hours of daily local sports talk radio, plus 3.5 hours on Friday nights in the fall, powered by a team of about a dozen people.
