We're meeting to practice the very simple, but deeply intimate and profound act of gazing into each other's eyes. Being somewhat comfortable with eye contact can be a huge help in spiritual growth and personal development, and this event offers space to explore that practice with others. There won't be too much instruction beforehand, because the practice is unique for every person who does it. Some find it meditative, intense, emotional, profound, intimate, hilarious, among other things. You don't need to hold in any emotional expression while eye-gazing. Whether it's laughter, teary eyes, or even getting distracted and looking away often; there are no mistakes. Think of it like breath meditation, but instead of the breath, we're continuously bringing our awareness back to our partner's eyes.
The event will be structured so that we shuffle along a row, seated across from each other (please be prepared to move around a bit). We'll engage in timed eye gazing sessions, starting with shorter durations and building up to a final, longer session. Depending on the number of attendees, we'll aim to give everyone a chance to eye-gaze with everyone else.
Come with curiosity and openness. What can we learn about others when we remove the taboo of maintaining eye contact and the need to exchange words or touch? We're left with something beautiful.
Donations optional on a sliding scale of $5-$15 via Venmo @Cody-Hanes-5. We'd rather have you than not.
