Pan-Pan & Kikimora Records welcome Voka Gentle to Birmingham.
VOKA GENTLE: Operating on a plane between avant-garde indie, bubbling electronica and cosmic psychedelia, Voka Gentle have an addictive, amorphous sound. A three limbed beast made up of twins Ellie and Imogen Mason, and William J. Stokes, each is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer with an imperious understanding of three dimensional sound.
Their latest album 'Domestic Bliss' (on State 51) is overflowing with throat-grabbing, avant-garde indie rock songs studded with eccentric choices: a synth with its keys jammed, playing a ghostly tune of its own making; field recordings – Morris dancers, motorbikes – captured on binaural headphones.

ENSEMBLE BEDNIERI: This Birmingham based choir sing polyphonic folk music from Georgia; a small country on the eastern edge of the Black Sea, nestled between the snowy Caucus mountains in the north the arid Turkish lands in the south.
Spanning numerous regional styles and vocal techniques from across Georgia, we will share an uplifting and sonorous mix; from harvesting and feasting songs to pagan healing songs and medieval chants.
