The Northwest Stone Sculptors Association (NWSSA) is excited to offer Youth Soapstone Carving Workshops during the Northwest Art Alliance Best of the Northwest Spring Show.
Youth can participate an up-close experience with creativity by learning to carve their own soapstone animal figurine. Ages 7 – 17. Free with admission to the Best of the Northwest Show. Spots are limited and registration is encouraged.
About the Workshops
Artist instructors from the Northwest Stone Sculptors Association will guide youth participants through the process of shaping this beautiful, natural material into a figurine to take home.
These workshops are designed to promote fine motor skills, 3D spatial reasoning, and artistic confidence. This event is free and the soapstone and all necessary kid-safe tools and water to minimize dust will be provided.
Two 90 minute sessions are available, on Saturday April 11th and Sunday, April 12th beginning at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm.
