Your First Oil Painting with Yahya (Beginner-Friendly)
In this 2-hour class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of oil painting and leave with a finished piece you can take home the same day (it will be wet). No experience needed.

You can book this class for multiple sessions to turn it into a personalized learning series. Each time you come back, we’ll build on your progress—color mixing, values, brushwork, composition, and finishing—so you improve fast without feeling overwhelmed.

• Simple palette setup + brush basics
• How to mix clean color (without the “mud zone”)
• Big shapes → light & shadow → details
• Basic blending + edge control (the trick that makes paintings look “real”)

Choose at the start: simple still life, easy landscape, or abstract color study (all beginner-safe).
If you return for more sessions, you can switch subjects or continue developing the same piece.

Guided instruction + studio setup and all materials: paint, canvas boards, brushes, palettes, and everything you need to paint confidently.

• Wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on.
• Oils take time to dry—your painting goes home wet and dries over several days.
• We keep things well-ventilated; if you’re sensitive to smells, message us before class.

Trained as a working artist, Yahya taught graduate-level students at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago before launching his own art school. Expect a welcoming, structured approach that builds real skills in color, light, and brushwork—whether you come once or turn it into a multi-session series.
