York Street Thought Process, Wild Bloom, and Evan Rotella will be bringing their beautiful folk songs and storytelling to the Pilot for one night only!
York Street Thought Process is a charming folk duo made up of Jaron Camp & Rachael Frankruyter. The duo has captured the hearts of audiences across Canada with their playful approach to folk music, blending strong storytelling, improvisation and a multitude of instrument switches from mandolins to baritone electric guitars. The duo just released their new single 'Dignity' and will be performing across Canada in 2025, including the highly esteemed Mariposa Folk Festival (Emerging Artist) and Winnipeg Folk Festival (Young Performers Program).
Fiddle, folk and three-part harmonies defines contemporary folk trio, Wild Bloom. The trio was formed in Toronto by Becky Leigh, Brittany Iwanciwski, and Alyssa Tess in 2022. With rich emotive vocals, lush harmonies, and captivating fiddle improvisation, these musicians combine their years of musical expertise to blend singer songwriter and fiddle styles to create their dynamic and heartfelt music. Now three years in, the trio has released original music, completed two multi-city Ontario tours and has over 100K views on Youtube. Together, Wild Bloom weaves friendship and stories with their fem folk sound to share music that speaks to the heart.
Evan Rotella is a singer-songwriter from Niagara Falls, Ontario who has been performing live and writing songs for nearly a decade. He began making waves with his 2020 vinyl release of “(If I Was A) Rockstar,” featuring notable Pittsburgh musicians Danny Gochnour and Joe Munroe, and followed it with a collection of acoustic originals titled The Demo Tapes in 2021. Evan’s sound and stage presence have been shaped by years of playing everywhere from local bars and festivals to the legendary Stone Pony in New Jersey. He has opened for an impressive list of artists including Steve Earle, Southside Johnny, and Stephen Page, and collaborated with talents such as Astrid Young and Stephen Stanley. His 2023 debut album Happy To Be Here showcased 10 original songs produced by Mark and Myles Rogers, and was followed in late 2024 by Last Train Home, a stripped-down acoustic record. Evan continues to build momentum with festival performances at Mariposa, NXNE, and Supercrawl, and is currently in the studio recording a new album with a well-known Ontario band.
